**Job Summary**
Works in the mail room on all Athletic and special events. Counting, verifying and checking out vendors and stands.
**Responsibilities**
1. Collects money and returns change to customers.
2. Counts money collected during shift, balances it concession sales, and submits to supervisor for review.
3. Cleans work area by sweeping floors, wiping off machines and counters.
4. Will assist at Athletic and special events.
Within the framework of University policy, the Cashier has the authority to carry out transactions related to the collection of payment for fees, fines, tickets, and purchases, and to give directions and respond to general questions. The Cashier is responsible for handling and safekeeping of cash during the shift. Requests for exceptions to policy are referred to the supervisor.

**Minimum Qualifications**

Six months cashiering experience, basic mathematical skills, and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. Word processing and spreadsheet skills may be preferred for certain positions.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

**Preferences**

Bank and money room experience. Must complete and pass a background check. Must be able to work some afternoons, late nights, and weekends. Must be able to attend required training's.
