**Job Summary**

This individual will provide support for research projects and will gather, organize, and analyze data for use in studies, publications and other research related uses.

Successful candidates will be independent self-starters; willing to learn research techniques; have excellent communication and organizational skills; work well with a team and be comfortable with computer databases.

**Responsibilities**

oConduct literature reviews

oCollects and compiles data from a variety of sources

oMaintains files and records for research protocols and activities

oAssist in maintainingIRBprotocols and study databases

oPreparation of study materials for study visits

oAssist with implementation of studies

oData entry and verification

oResearch-related administration

oDraft research papers, project reports, and presentations prior to publication or presentation

oWork with research team in the design and preparation of new research projects

oMay need to travel to different sites within and outside University of Utah to discuss analyses or obtain data

oWork effectively with other research personnel in executing responsibilities in teams

Compiles data from a variety of sources. Enters data into the computer system. Assists in the preparation of manuscripts and presentation materials. Maintains files and records of research data. Drafts correspondence to answer inquiries and respond to requests about the projects. Edits research papers, project reports, and publication materials. May travel to a variety of sites both within and outside the University campus to obtain data.

Nearly Continuously: Office environment.

Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking.

Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking.

**Minimum Qualifications**

Master's degree in Public Health or related field; one year of experience in research and analytical techniques; demonstrated statistical and quantitative analysis experience. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. A valid Utah Driver's License may be required in certain departments.

**Preferences**

The ideal candidate will have:

oPrior experience or familiarity with research and study protocols

oExperience with statistical analysis and statistical packages
